  • Dalston Eastern Curve Garden 13 Dalston Lane London, England, E8 3DF United Kingdom (map)

Hohnen Ford streamed jazz standards and her songs to millions during the pandemic. Experience her golden voice at Dalston Curve Garden.

HOHNEN FORD

Born and raised in North London, Hohnen Ford grew up immersed in London’s vibrant Jazz scene, becoming fixated on instrumental jazz music of the 20th Century and later studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music.

Whilst at the Royal Academy Hohnen wrote and performed extensively in various ensembles around the UK, whilst privately developing her own sound, inspired by the songwriting of Joni Mitchell, Bjork, David Longstreth, Stevie Wonder, Big Thief, Gillian Welch, and the composers of the Great American Songbook.

Whilst writing and recording her debut release, Hohnen has cultivated a devoted
online audience through performances at her piano, live-streamed from her home to millions each week.

Taking confidence from these performances Hohnen set about creating her first
release, a combination of self-written songs and collaborations with the likes of Matt Maltese, creating a collection of intimate songs recorded at home, on the very same piano.

Hohnen Ford’s debut EP will be released in Autumn ‘22 via Young Poet Records.

MIDORI JAEGER

Cellist and singer-songwriter Midori makes music that refuses to fit into a box. She confronts difference, belonging, gender and mixed heritage through a distinct and cello-fuelled sonority that aches with meaning and pulses with groove.

Recognised by Moses Sumney, Talvin Singh and Madison Cunningham for her one-of-a-kind cello and vocal videos, Midori’s talent is quickly becoming known worldwide. Her 2021 concept EP 'See Touch Kick and Sweat' gained Jazz FM Late Night Track of the Week, features from Podcart, Bandcamp Weekly, RGM Magazine, a live performance on BBC Radio London, and a sold-out headline show at the Green Note.

'What makes Midori stand out from the crowd is her breathtaking songwriting’ (RGM Magazine)
