Our weekly festival, every Tuesday at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden through the summertime with soulful singer-songwriter Carrie Tree, Italian multi-instrumentalist Valeria Pozzo's trio and up-and-coming jazz group Treeclimbers.
CARRIE TREE
In true nomadic style, Brighton based singer-songwriter Carrie Tree has spent her entire adult life traveling the world with her music, stirring and softening hearts along the way. With an uncanny ability to reach into the traditions of the lands she visits, she touches a place deep inside the hearts of her listeners wherever she performs.
Carrie has been a known name in the UK’s grassroots scene for over a decade and has toured in many retreats, festivals and concerts across Europe. She has played regularly at UK festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Secret Garden and Glastonbury Festival, where she performed on the 2000+ capacity William’s Green stage.
She has collaborated live and in the studio with the likes of Damien Rice, Carly Simon Fink, Albert Mazibuko (Ladysmith Black Mambazo), Rumer, Martha Tilston and Andy Barlow of Lamb. Carrie featured as the main vocalist on Andy Barlows album 'Leap and the net will appear', and performed with him live on Dermot O'Leary's BBC2 show to 1.6 million listeners.
With 2 albums under her belt, Carrie's third album 'The Canoe' is released this Spring. The listener is drawn into her world of mystical storytelling and sublime melody through the production and arrangements of Markus Sieber (known for his ambient acoustic recordings as Aukai).
VALERIA POZZO TRIO
Valeria Pozzo is an Italian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who draws upon elements of jazz, pop and folk. With her songs Valeria Pozzo opens a window into herself and shares something very personal and real. Her deeply emotive, authentic and captivating voice is an emotive catalyst. It triggers thoughts, feelings and memories.
Valeria released her debut EP ‘Here I live and Breathe’ in 2014 and since then she has been gigging regularly in the UK and Europe. Valeria was the voice of the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Global Campaign 2016 and she recorded an Italian/English cover of ‘Here Comes The Sun’ at Abbey Road Studios.
Over the years she had the chance to collaborate with many great musicians such as Neil Cowley Trio, Antonio Forcione, ESKA, Nick Zinner and to play in some great venues and on Radio shows (BBC Introducing, The Barbican, The Royal Festival Hall, The Purcell Room).
