"Sit down, focus up and give all your attention...that warm vocal of hers...totally immersive” - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
“Breathtaking vocal and delicate production” - The Line of Best Fit
With a focus on rich vocal arrangements, lush instrumentals and poetic lyricism, B-ahwe explores themes of femininity, mental health, and relationships, whilst challenging societal ideals.
Following a run of singles throughout 2023, she shared her most honest and vulnerable body of work to date, the '26% MIXTAPE’. The project built upon the versatility already shown on previous releases, successfully fusing elements of R&B, alt-pop, hip-hop, and drum & bass. The project saw her spotlighted as a Spotify RADAR: First Listen artist, and drew widespread acclaim from the likes of Clash and Notion, as well as tastemakers across national radio, including Sian Eleri, Jack Saunders and Victoria Jane. Selected as a recipient of the 2023 Amazon X FAC ‘Step Up’ Fund alongside acts including Jalen Ndonga and Tara Lily, her adaptability and arrangement skills have led to her contributing vocals to several artist projects. These include underground UK hip-hop acts Lausse The Cat and Nix Northwest, jazz-crossover acts Yaatri & Pyjæn, and liquid drum & bass producer Mitekiss.
Renowned for her live performances, 2023 saw her perform at BBC Introducing: Summer By The River, The Great Escape, and Gilles Peterson's 'We Out Here' festival, before embarking on a UK headline tour in November.
