Meet Loie, an exciting multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and independent artist from vibrant South London, Brixton. Loie comes from a creative household, with a background in dance and innovative eye, she invites interdisciplinary art forms within her artistry. Loie’s experience growing up as a young, mixed woman of British, Chinese-Trinidadian/Bolivian background in Brixton, has been hugely influential to her sound and collaborative, creative process.
Loie’s sound is soulful, raw and live-focused, often using samples of nature and conversations captured within her everyday life. An eloquent writer, she takes inspiration from some of the great female vocalists before her such as Nina Simone, Sade and Jill Scott.
Independently she has received enormous support and an increasingly growing fan base. She has been recognised by London’s leading female DJ’s such as Hannah Wants, Jamz Supernova, Nadia Jae, Jyoty and Jess Izzat. Radio support includes consistent plays on BBC Asia, BBC Radio 1, BBC London and BBC 1xtra. Loie made ascending artist of the week on the Rebecca Judd show, her single 'Hide My Feels' made track of the Week with DJ Ace on BBC 1Xtra, she has appeared on numerous Spotify editorials such as NWF and Fresh Finds and been covered by digital magazines Wonderland and Notion.
