Facesoul x Michael Sebastian + Danika (SOLD OUT)

  • Dalston Eastern Curve Garden 13 Dalston Lane London, England, E8 3DF United Kingdom (map)

Consider yourself introduced to London-based Somali artist FaceSoul (aka Faisal Salah) and his incredibly moving, soulful compositions and stories. Rendering the listener spellbound with his raw, honest account of his experiences and learnings over equally immersive and atmospheric soundscapes, Facesoul is one of those rare artists whose words and sounds speak directly to your soul.

Michael Sebastian improvises dance music. His music has the structure of electronic; the freedom of jazz, and the depth of world music. Sebastian's music is an expression of musical interactions and insights from around the world. His mission is to cultivate connection and share freedom through music and performance.

Together, the two artists weave a rich sound which has the capacity to move the feet as well as the hearts and minds of anyone lucky enough to hear them play together.

Danika

Melbourne/Naarm-based artist Danika, offers a refreshing and immersive sound, rich in harmonies and groove, drawing from a delicate blend of Folk, Soul and Jazz influences.

Playing in a trio format with bass and drums, Danika’s cyclical fingerpicking style and warm, textural electric guitar tones, paired with otherworldly vocals and candid lyrics creates a full sound and cathartic outlet to be shared with the listener.

Working alongside Grammy-nominated Producer Nick Herrera (Hiatus Kaiyote) in 2019, her debut Single ‘Suit of Armour’ premiered with Gilles Peterson from BBC6, Followed by ‘Sweet Mellow D’. Going on to sign with Endless Recordings in 2021, Danika released her debut EP ‘When Love Comes’, with performances including Strawberry Fields, Brunswick Street Music festival, and PBS’s Drive Live.

Music has been a staple part of Danika’s life from a young age. Growing up meant being on the move, relocating across coastal and rural landscapes around northern NSW, and Danika found music to be a constant companion.

‘‘Danika is a rare find. Soulfully folk, her exploratory sounds and melodic introspection create a delicate and beautiful world, glistening with harmonies. Smith’s work truly taps into the inner workings of the soul” - Nkechi Anele – Triple J
