TC & The Groove Family ft. Franz Von
TC & The Groove Family are a 10-piece collective whose music celebrates the coming together of cultures, and the unity that music can provide for everyone. They explore grooves and genres from the UK and around the world, including afrobeat, breakbeat, jungle, jazz and highlife.
Having gained a reputation in Leeds for a raucous live show bursting with raw energy, the band have played alongside afro-fusion legends K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade and London jazzers Pyjaen and Cykada at shows in Sheffield, Bristol and London. In 2021, the band performed as part of We Out Here’s online festival showcase, before blowing the roof off of the Chai Wallah stage at Shambino in August.
Singles ‘Let’s Start’ and ‘Temple’ received airplay from BBC Introducing West Yorkshire, Craig Charles and Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6, plus Colin Curtis on Worldwide FM. Having spent successive lockdowns writing new music, the band headed into the studio in the summer 2021 to record their debut album with Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, ONIPA).
The new album 'First Home' will be released in June 2022 in a summer packed full of shows - this being their only London date, with Franz Von joining them on stage.
Mama Sutra
Mama Sutra are a new force to be reckoned with in the London Jazz Scene. Started in 2021 following a residency at the Troy Bar in Shoreditch, the members musical styles gelled perfectly and they have been gracing dancefloors across London since. Their fusion of jazz, funk and disco offers a high energy sonic experience centred by Sheena’s powerful voice and Pharoah’s musical arrangement and vision. A band not to be missed!
MATTHEW ONE MAN (EXHIBITION)
Matthew One Man is an Egham based multimedia artist. Creating everything from conceptual abstract music, quasi-religious art, cardboard sculptures and animation. Matthew will be displaying a handful of works from his currently touring exhibition Rebirth Retrospective. Mixing surrealism and pointillism to picture a society that encapsulates every era and culture, conjuring up its own modern mythology.
