LOUIS VI
3.5M streamsof his debut Album, fresh off tour with Chicagoan rapper SABA, hitting the 1.5Million mark with his stand out single ‘Jazz Got Me’with the infamous Mick Jenkins, announced as PRS Emerging Artist & hot off his live performance for BBC 1xtra at Maida Vale with Moses Boyd, Louis VI has already taken enough power steps to make 2019 a statement year for this young visionary London rapper & producer.
Working with many international artists, selling out both his headline shows, the second being the last ever show at the legendary Ghost notes in February 2019, he is a true multi-dimensional rapper, producer & singer, with style comparisons to Erykah Badu mixed with Thundercat, Kendrick, Andre 3000 & Isaiah Rashad. That combined with his unique jazz in fluenced style, producing nearly all of his own album, is making him internationally recognized as a new force in modern Hip Hop, bridging the UK to the World. In celebration of the album’s success, Louis has just released a limited edition press of 300 copies of his album on double disc Vinyl, which will be on sale at the Curve.
DEMI MA
Anglo-Zulu Demi DemiMa Mseleku is a singer and sonic poet from South West London and eThekwini’s (Durban) south coast.
Inspired by Africa-Utopia and divine femininity, DemiMa presents a unique form of electronic soul, fusing isiZulu and English lyrics with captivating harmonies and freeform rhythms.
Inviting her audience to a new musical realm, DemiMa uses a loop machine to channel kaleidoscopic sounds as a canvas for her lyrical philosophies.
DELPHI LACE
Delphi Lace are a five-piece live outfit based in London. A new project for 2019, their music blends varying elements of soul, jazz, R&B and blues to form a diverse sound that’s at once familiar and unique, with a fresh contemporary feel. Having gathered in small rooms and barebones studios to hone their musical approach against the backdrop of the growing London jazz scene, Delphi Lace are now sharing their sounds with the capital and beyond. With a lively creative approach and a playful smile, Millie, George, Ollie, Olly and Adam take the listener on a journey through interconnected strands of contemporary soulful music.
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Since our first season in 2013, our event at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden has always inspired audiences in a unique and thrilling way. This season of events captures the essence of a weekend rural festival in the centre of Dalston on a Tuesday evening.
The phenomenal surrounds of the garden combine with delicious pizzas from David Latto, and a supreme and ever-evolving roster of acts, to create a magical atmosphere which brings people together in a friendly and welcoming space.
It's a community of music-lovers joining to celebrate the warm months in a carefree and supportive atmosphere, with a compelling live soundtrack.
