We are proud to present a huge night of brass and beats at North London's Balabam.
DAT BRASS
This high energy 10 piece meld the funky melodies of hard-hitting brass with the hip-hop beats of live drums, rap and scratch. The crew from North London serve up a healthy dose of big room originals peppered with solos from top jazz cats, as well sampling some old school classics into a heavy brass beat. Expect red hot verse, fat horn lines, and the biggest bass drops ever recorded from a sousaphone.
TAFANDA
Tafanda uses a sampler & a trumpet live in a flurry of jazz-inspired groovy electronica with hip-hop influences. Rooted in a crate-digging composition style, this is a solo project for Joshua Payne who’s a founding member of the emerging Mt Moon Collective in Brighton.
DJ FORAYEM
London based DJ, Forayem (4AM) started mixing records when he was 15. Admittedly, he was playing Spanish techno records, but he's come a long way since then. Now he's just as comfortable mixing hip-hop, funk and soul as he is house, disco or future beats.
As co-founder of long-running event ‘Super Scratch Sunday’, his goal is to bring back the love for the art of DJing.
Drawing influences from greats such as; Jazzy Jeff, DJ Numark, The Beat Junkies and Invisibl Skratch Piklz, he aims to make his sets a perfect balance of the known and the unknown, with added scratch spice on top.
Currently a regular DJ at Trailer Happiness in West London. Forayem is also working on consistently making content for his Youtube channel 'Forayem TV'.
