YOLANDA EYAMA & AFRO WORLD GROOVE
Following their sensational show on our stage at Wilderness Festival, we are very excited to add Yolanda Eyama & Afro World Groove to the lineup for this Tuesday!
Yolanda Eyama’s prestige is recognised in the field of African music. She has spend many years dedicating body and soul to the black music of the cultures of Africa. She merges the songs of her origins with pop, funk, jazz and contemporary soul in her own way.
Yolanda sings in African languages, Spanish, English and French. She raps, sings, recites and modulates her way through the cadences and rhythms of Africa. Combined with her sensational band Afro World Groove which features top quality musicians on drums, bass, percussion, guitars, horns and more, they create a party experience which is second to none.
SISIKA
“Amazingly delicate, hair-stand-up-on-your-neck harmonies. Ominous and beautiful. A distinct voice” The Fader
Sisika are a four piece from South London, featuring Georgia Duncan on guitar and voice, her sister Katie on keys and voice, David Coughlin on bass and Lucy Katz on drums. Combining close, earthy harmonies with warm guitar, melodic bass lines, minimal synth sounds and subtle drums they create intricate, freely arranged songs with a rootsy soul folk sound.
Last summer they played festivals including Glastonbury, Kendal Calling, How The Light Gets In (Hay-on-Wye), The Pumphouse Aldeburgh and Merge on Southbank - and gigs around London for the last year include at The Slaughtered Lamb (New Roots Promotions), Kansas Smitty's, Jamboree and Queens Head Islington. They have just recorded their first EP, set for release in early Autumn.
MOLLY'S LIPS
Molly’s Lips are a duo from Deal, Kent made up of members of the band Cocos Lovers. Over the past year they’ve been haunting the drinking holes of deal, honing their sound besides roaring fires, pints of ale and intrigued locals. In 2015 they released a live EP on Smugglers Records which was recorded, mixed and released all in one day. With a full studio album in the works and a tour with label mate and drinking companion Will Varley, the pair are set to bring their music to a much wider audience in 2017.
