ALICE ZAWADZKI

Loosely connected to the jazz world but realistically inhabiting her own realm, the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist presents music from her latest release, Within You Is A World Of Spring, as well as richly inspired new songs from the last year. Deep and life-long musical influences are braided together by Zawadzki’s "whimsical hyper-creativity" (MOJO Magazine), creating poetry and music that is hard to define yet unmistakeable in its sound. With declamations, reveries, and night-time beats, she leads an inspiring band of celebrated musicians in realising her extraordinary, sometimes mercurial, often moving, occasionally droll, original songs.

Alice Zawadzki - voice, violin, piano

Nat Keen - guitar

Misha Mullov-Abbado - double bass

Ernesto Marichales - drums and percussion

“She is a genuine original” - ★★★★ The Guardian

“Zawadzki's larynx is a supple, expressive, rousing delight...folkloric tales sensually scored... as maverick as Fever Ray or Joanna Newsome. Expect the unexpected" - ★★★★ MOJO Magazine

“a voice of velvet suppleness and gutsy emotional power” – The Arts Desk

"Tender in spirit and defiantly anti-genre... A cornucopia of delights." - ★★★★ Jazzwise Magazine

"An awestruck hymn to nature that masters all manner of styles." - ★★★★ (contemporary album of the month) The Guardian

VALERIA POZZO

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Valeria Pozzo began playing violin at a very young age. After spending many years developing as a classical musician in her native Italy, Valeria left Venice and moved to London to pursue music full time. Inspired by the energy and pulse of London, Valeria began writing her own music and developing her voice as a singer-songwriter.

Over the years, Valeria’s boundless musical curiosity led her to perform with artists spanning a spectrum of styles such as Jazz Jamaica All Stars, ESKA, Neil Cowley, Antonio Forcione, Robert Mitchell, Rhys Lewis and the NU Civilisation Orchestra.

Valeria has performed at some of the most prestigious halls and venues in Italy and the UK and has sung at world renowned Abbey Road Studio, where she recorded a cover of George Harrison’s ‘Here Comes The Sun’ for Peroni's Nastro Azzurro campaign.

Valeria’s classical background along with her extensive collaborations with these artists seem to perfectly collide and synthesise in her own work. Valeria’s music is not easily pinned down, but rather hovers around pop/folk, indie and jazz. Much of Valeria’s writing is directly inspired by her own personal experience, with themes of family, relationships, and distance explored with a deft touch and a heartrending wisdom.

In 2020 Valeria released her debut single 'My Heart', written, recorded and produced by her at home during lockdown. Valeria is currently working on her forthcoming EP.
