Woodburner's weekly outdoor festival returns to Dalston Eastern Curve Garden for the rest of the summer. Having lost June and July to lockdown and its aftermath, it's with huge excitement that we launch our summer season on this very special night.
This event will be operating with reduced capacity, and a host of measures to ensure that social distancing is observed and government guidelines are followed. For our full COVID-19 safety precautions, please click here.
BROTHER’S TESTAMENT
Brother’s Testament are a groove-based jazz fusion band from London. Their sound amalgamates powerful grooves and stirring melodies whilst also rooted in the jazz tradition. Brother’s Testament perform from the heart and emphasise and embrace improvisation so that the set manifests organically on stage, differently each time.
Brother’s Testament have already captivated audiences at Jazz Cafe (supporting Antonio Sanchez), EFG London Jazz Festival under the #jazznewbloodALIVE2018 series, Vortex Jazz Club (headline show), Wilderness Festival 2018 (in association with Jazz:refreshed) and Jazz FM’s Jazz in the Round (supporting Jean Toussaint).
Last year saw the release of ‘Ascent’, their debut EP that slowly gained traction and garnered acclaim from the wider jazz community in London. Tracks from the ‘Ascent’ have been played on radio nationally, via Jazz FM (Tim Garcia + Chris Philips) and notable UK internet radio stations Worldwide FM, NTS Radio, Reprezent Radio and Balamii Radio.
QUNN OULTON
Quinn Oulton is a singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in South London. Over the past three years Quinn has been developing a unique sound that merges his jazz roots with modern production and alternative/indie songwriting.
Following his debut album release, he was chosen to attend the acclaimed Red Bull Music Academy 2018 where he delved deeper into the world of electronic music and production. Quinn’s most recent EP, ‘Long Gone’ was released in March 2020, which won him the Spinnup x BBC Introducing Live award.
He recently collaborated with Notion Magazine for the first performance of a brand new solo livestream setup - a fluid combination of lush vocal layering/looping, improvisation, sample manipulation, and his captivating songwriting.
