Having celebrated The Turbans more than perhaps any other band, it is with huge excitement that we present their biggest and most extravagant show to date.
THE TURBANS DEBUT ALBUM LAUNCH
International musical adventurers The Turbans bind together music from ‘manywhere’, igniting audiences with the bacchanalian spirit of the Eastern Mediterranean. Drawing on the rich cultural heritage of both the Levantine and Balkan regions, they create original music for the 21st century, inspired by ancient melodies.
Sonically huge and visually arresting, the interstellar live show embodies the skill, experience and passion of intrepid instrumental explorers from Turkey, Bulgaria, Israel, Iran, Spain, Greece and England, pooling their energy and creativity in a spirit of generosity and openness that is so needed in these troubled global times.
2 years in the making, mixed and mastered by legendary producer Jerry Boys (Ali Farka Toure, Everything But the Girl, The Beatles!), their eponymous debut album will come out on acclaimed US label Six Degrees Records on 23 March 2018, released worldwide on vinyl, CD and digital.
The album was made possible due to a successful $30k Indiegogo campaign, which is testament to their enormous grassroots following and the carnival atmosphere of their hugely energetic live shows that has set festivals on fire in India, Hong Kong, Canada, USA, the Middle East and all over Europe.
On the night expect a huge live band, with special guests and an exuberant display of costume and colour.
THE LANGAN BAND
Award winners at the world renowned Celtic Connections Festival, The Langan Band have toured extensively throughout the UK and Internationally, and gained themselves a large and loyal fan base along the way. Glasgow power-trio The Langan Band create a dynamic sound that is rooted in Celtic Folk but encompasses Balkan, Roma and Flamenco elements, fuelled by a visceral punk spirit.
With a deceptively stripped down line-up of vocals, guitar, fiddle, bass and percussion, The Langan Band never fail to get the crowd dancing. They are as much at home on a huge festival stage playing to thousands of people as they are playing an intimate Scottish Village Hall.
